SARC: Helping refugees from Iraq...

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), founded in 1942 and a member of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent, currently focuses its work on Iraqi refugees. The 2003 Iraqi war caused one of the worst refugee crises in history, displacing hundreds of thousands of people. Syria opened it doors to up to 1.2 million refugees, seeking safety and in need of social support, medical care and education.
